THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH ANNOUNCES NEW ADMINISTRATOR OF THE OSCEOLA COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT ~Belinda Johnson-Cornett, MS, RNC, MBA selected as new administrator~
TALLAHASSEE – The Florida Department of Health (DOH) announces the appointment of Belinda Johnson-Cornett, MS, RNC, MBA as Administrator of the Osceola County Health Department. “I am pleased to welcome Belinda Johnson-Cornett to the Osceola County Health Department and to her new role within the Department of Health,” Deputy State Health Officer Tom Arnold said. “Belinda’s experience in nursing and business, as well as over fifteen years in health care administration, will complement the work of the dedicated team at the Osceola CHD.” Belinda Johnson-Cornett has served the Duval CHD for five years in various roles, including executive nursing director, interim director of the Duval CHD, and director of health services. The director of health services oversees a network of health centers, including federally qualified community health centers, pharmacies and dental programs. She has also been influential in Medicaid reform and managed care contracting for the Duval CHD and been a member of DOH leadership committees. Previously, Johnson-Cornett has served in nursing and administrative roles in the northeastern United States, primarily in the Boston area. Johnson-Cornett holds a master’s degree in nursing from Boston College and a master’s degree in business from Suffolk University, also in Boston, MA.
